Babies and toddlers

Babies and toddlers are welcome in the Kids' Summer Reading Challenge program.

For the last several years, we've offered an additional, simpler challenge through the Babytime and Toddlertime programs.

Although those in-person programs have not notwithstanding resumed, the Early Literacy Challenges are back. We invite caregivers and their little ones to enjoy activities together that set up a strong foundation for after reading success: reading, writing, singing, talking, and playing.

Children and teens

Participants ages 0 – 18 may read or listen to any type of written content.  This includes books, eBooks, magazines, online content, and any sort of printed or digital content  from the Library or from other sources.(Yeah, that includes cereal boxes!)

Did you know that listening to someone read is great exercise for your brain, no matter how old you are and how well y'all can read? Considering of this, please be sure to count the minutes you listen to audiobooks, listen to content from our databases, and heed to someone read aloud.

Children and teens complete the program at 1200 points.

Adults

What types of reading count?
